Our Journey -SRRO
In 2013–2014, SRRO launched the 1 year Saksham initiative to provide free health education and social support for leprosy patients, tribal communities, and their children in the Tahirpur region of Delhi. The initiative included health awareness programs, free health camps, cloth distribution, educational support for children, motivational sessions, painting competitions, and tree plantation drives, promoting inclusive development and community empowerment.
On 7 March 2014, at Constitution Club, New Delhi, India, On the occasion of International Women’s Day, SRRO organized a National Seminar focused on women's empowerment, gender equality, and the challenges faced by women in contemporary society. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 200 delegates, including social activists, policymakers, scholars, students, and community leaders. The seminar served as a platform for constructive dialogue and shared commitment toward building an inclusive and equitable society for women.
On 8th March 2017, SRRO hosted the prestigious Nari Shakti Awards at the Indian Islamic Culture Centre Auditorium, New Delhi, as part of its Women’s Day celebration. The event was graced by Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Sudarshan Bhagat as the Chief Guest. The program celebrated women empowerment by recognizing outstanding women for their contribution toward social change and also promoted awareness on gender equality, menstrual hygiene, health and education through seminars and community engagement activities.
On 14th August 2019, SRRO organized “Rashtra Vandan: Shahidon Ko Naman” at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi, to pay tribute to the brave martyrs and freedom fighters of the nation. The patriotic event brought together youth, social leaders, and retired defense personnel through inspiring speeches, patriotic songs, and floral tributes, promoting nationalism, unity, and the spirit of service toward the country.
In February 2020, Social Reforms and Research Organization (SRRO) organized a Free Cloth Distribution Drive at a Rain Basera (night shelter) in Delhi. This initiative aimed to provide warmth and dignity to the homeless and underprivileged during the winter season. Volunteers from SRRO distributed clothes, including woolens and essentials, to needy individuals residing in the shelter. The program reflected SRRO’s commitment to social welfare and its continuous efforts to support vulnerable communities with compassion and care.
On 8th March 2020, on International Women’s Day, SRRO organized “Samaj Mein Mahilaon Ki Bhumika: Samvad” at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi. The event focused on women’s role in society and featured discussions on empowerment and equality. Women achievers from various fields were also honored with awards for their significant contributions. Eminent speakers, social activists, educators, and youth participated in the dialogue, sharing insights on women’s empowerment, leadership, and gender equality.
For three consecutive years (2021, 2022, and 2023), Vishwa Dharma Samvad has been organized on 12th January, on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a symbol of youth inspiration and spiritual awakening. As part of SRRO’s flagship series Seva (Service), Shanti (Peace), and Paryavaran (Environment), this interfaith dialogue brings together religious leaders, saints, and spiritual scholars from across India and the world to foster peace, harmony, and mutual respect. With the active participation of thousands of students and young citizens, the program fosters a spirit of harmony, values-based leadership, and collective responsibility. Supported by the local administration and civil society, this initiative aims to become a global platform for religious representation and youth-driven social transformation, held proudly each year in theheart of India. Representatives of all faiths are expected to be present at this event, thereby uplifting the bonds of brotherhood. Just as the movement and flow of anything incorporate purity and progress, we will also include required moderation in the dialogue every year. India, a land full of knowledge, humility, creative abilities, and varied culture, will always contribute to making this world a better place to live. Therefore, we, as a part of India, are determined to devote ourselves to this universal cause of binding the followers of all the sects by the means of “VISHWA DHARMA SAMVAD”.
Social Reforms & Research Organization Organize a National Seminar on the occasion ofVishwa Shanti Diwas (World Peace Day) in series of Vishwa Dharm Samvad on 21st September, 2022 at 3:OO PM at C D Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Center, New Delhi ‘International Day of Peace’ is celebrated every year on ‘ 21st September ‘. This day is considered an ideal of freedom, peace and happiness among all nations and peoples. ‘World Peace Day’ is mainly celebrated to establish peace and non-violence all over the earth . Everyone loves peace. Humans sacrifice most of their lives in search of it. But it is quite disappointing that today man is getting away from this peace day by day. Service of humanity is our aim. We work towards serving the people and animals to promote a peaceful environment. SRRO’s team has decided to work whole-heartidly towards it by dedicating a complete day to charity. We aim to encourage people to indulge more into charity work and bring together people associated to it at one platform and work together towards the betterment of the society.
On November 26, 2023, the SRRO organized a unique literary and cultural evening titled “Kavya Sang Litti Chokha– Navodaya Kavi Gosthi” in New Delhi. The event beautifully blended the spirit of poetry with the rich flavors of traditional Indian cuisine, offering a soulful experience to all attendees. The gathering brought together emerging and established poets, creating a vibrant platform for artistic expression and thoughtful dialogue. Through events like this, SRRO continues its mission of nurturing young talent, promoting regional culture, and using literature as a medium to connect and uplift communities.
On 13 February 2024, Social Reforms and Research Organization (SRRO) proudly supported the Marathi play "To Rajhans Ek", which was officially invited to perform at the prestigious 23rd Bharat Rang Mahotsav (Bharangam), organized by the National School of Drama (NSD), at Maharashtra Sadan New Delhi. Written by Dattap Patil and directed by Sachin Shinde, the play received nationwide acclaim and was staged at the renowned Shri Ram Centre in Delhi. SRRO’s Maharashtra chapter, under the leadership of State President Ms. Nivedita Madane-Vaishampayan, actively facilitated the representation, demonstrating SRRO’s commitment to promoting cultural heritage, youth engagement, and social consciousness through performing arts.This milestone highlights SRRO’s dedication to nurturing artistic talent and bringing socially relevant stories to national and international platforms.
On National Youth Day, 12th January 2025, SRRO successfully organized the Bharatiya Youth Parliament 2025, at Amity University (Knowledge Partner) , a momentous event aimed at empowering India's youth to take an active role in shaping the nation’s future. The event, held on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, was a tribute to his ideals of service, unity, and leadership, aligning with the vision of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for a self-reliant and developed India.The Bharatiya Youth Parliament -2025 provided a national platform for young leaders to engage in policymaking exercises, debates on critical issues like governance, sustainability, and leadership development. Over 1,000 youth leaders participated, gaining valuable insights into governance processes while discussing the future of India’s socio-political landscape. A key highlight of the event was the Swami Vivekananda Awards, which recognized outstanding contributions to peace, environment, and social service. The Second Bharatiya Youth Parliament (BYP) was successfully organized on 12th January 2026 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the theme “Kutumb Prabodhan.” The initiative aimed to empower youth by promoting democratic values, leadership, and active participation in nation-building. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Youth Members of Parliament, students, global summit delegates, quiz participants, academicians, social leaders, volunteers, and the general public. The program commenced with registration and kit distribution, followed by a grand inauguration featuring Vande Mataram and ceremonial lamp lighting on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s 163rd birth anniversary.The VVIP Guest, Hon’ble Smriti Irani, graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address motivating youth towards leadership, accountability, and national responsibility. Several eminent dignitaries and subject experts shared valuable insights on youth leadership, governance, and social responsibility. A key highlight of the event was the Parliamentary Session, presided over by Dr. Rajveer Solanki, where students simulated a real parliamentary environment as ruling and opposition members. Participants were evaluated by a distinguished jury on clarity of thought, confidence, leadership skills, and policy understanding. The session successfully encouraged constructive debate and democratic dialogue. The Award Ceremony included the Swami Vivekananda Quiz Competition, Swami Vivekananda Awards, Best MP Award and Youth Member of Parliament Awards, recognizing excellence in leadership, social work, and performance.
