Protecting Our Lifelines – SRRO’s Mission for Clean Water and a Greener Planet

Our organization is extremely serious towards the protection and conservation of water bodies for which we conduct drives to make them pollution free. To help our mission succeed, we also spread awareness among people to work towards pollution free water bodies. We have also worked to make Yamuna pollution free and hope to continue such activities in future.
Our aim is to conserve water, make it pollution free and also promote tree plantation. We hope to organise big events every year on the day of World Environment Day to promote our intrests.

In 1972, the UN General Assembly designated 5 June as World Environment Day (WED). The first celebration, under the slogan “Only One Earth” took place in 1974. In the following years, WED has developed as a platform to raise awareness on the problems facing our environment such as air pollution, plastic pollution, illegal wildlife trade, sustainable consumption, sea-level increase, and food security, among others. Furthermore, WED helps drive change in consumption patterns and in national and international environmental policy.

Special Online Webinar on "Overexploitation of Nature and Human Life"

On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Social Reforms and Research Organization (SRRO) organized a special online webinar on June 5, 2020, to raise awareness about the growing environmental challenges and the urgent need for sustainable living. The event featured Mr. Pramod Kumar, President of SRRO as the keynote speaker, who spoke on the topic “Overexploitation of Nature and Human Life.” During his address, Mr. Kumar emphasized how human actions such as deforestation, pollution, and the excessive use of natural resources are severely disturbing the ecological balance and endangering human life. He called for immediate collective action, encouraging individuals to take small yet impactful steps like planting trees, conserving water, and reducing plastic use. The session highlighted key concerns including the causes and consequences of environmental imbalance, its direct impact on human health and well being, and the critical role society must play in environmental protection. Through this webinar, SRRO reinforced its commitment to nature conservation, community awareness, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. The organization continues to inspire individuals to take action for the planet, one step at a time.
